How to Register as a Vendor in Nevada

What it's for

NevadaEPro is the State Purchasing Division's system for posting bids and receiving responses. To get automatic bid notices and submit bids, you need a NevadaEPro account. To actually get paid by a state agency, you also need a vendor number from the State Controller's Office. The state says vendors must "register with NevadaEPro and the State Controller's office."

Have this ready

• Tax ID number, legal name, DBA name, and your organization and ownership type
• Physical and mailing addresses. NevadaEPro lets you set separate bid, emergency, PO, remit and sales addresses.
• Email and phone for your contacts, plus the person who will be the account Administrator
• NIGP commodity codes for what you sell. The registration guide uses NIGP codes, though the Registration page also mentions NAICS.
• Employee count, corporate office location, and any certifications (ESB, NDOT DBE, veteran-, minority- or women-owned)

Steps

1. Go to NevadaEPro and choose Supplier Registration.
2. Company Information: fill in every field marked with an asterisk.
3. Administrator: complete this section right away. The guide warns: "Very important - fill in this tab before you leave for the day."
4. Addresses: set up your bid, PO, remit and other addresses.
5. Terms: optional, with no required fields.
6. Categories & Certifications: self-certify any small business or ownership status.
7. Commodity/Service Codes: add the NIGP codes that match your products and services.
8. Summary: review everything and submit. Your vendor (VEN) number comes by email.
9. Separately, fill out the State Controller's Electronic Vendor Registration form online. You'll get a DocuSign confirmation email. Allow 10 business days for a vendor number to be assigned.

After you register

• NevadaEPro sends automatic notices for solicitations that match your commodity codes. Bids, quotes and documents are submitted electronically in the portal.
• Keep your codes, contacts and addresses current in NevadaEPro. If your payment details change, update them with the Controller.
• If your Controller form doesn't meet the requirements, you'll get an email. Watch for it.

Watch out for

• State Public Works Division construction bids are posted through QuestCDN (see publicworks.nv.gov, Bid Advertisements), not NevadaEPro. NDOT highway lettings are also separate.
• Registering in only one of the two systems is a common mistake. NevadaEPro gets you bids, and the Controller registration gets you paid.
• Registering with the state yourself is simple. You don't need a paid third-party service.
