How to Register as a Vendor in Iowa

What it's for

IMPACS is the State of Iowa's eProcurement system, run by the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) on the JAGGAER ONE platform. Registering lets you get emailed bid opportunities that match your commodity codes and respond to DAS-hosted solicitations online. One login works across all IMPACS and JAGGAER applications.

Have this ready

• Legal business name, FEIN/EIN (or SSN) and contact information
• An email address for your IMPACS/JAGGAER login
• The commodity codes that fit what you sell. DAS publishes an IMPACS Commodity Code list to download.
• For after an award: a signed federal W-9, plus Iowa's EFT Authorization Form if you want electronic payment
• Registration with the Iowa Secretary of State if it applies to your business (not stated on the DAS pages reviewed)

Steps

1. Go to DAS's Vendor Registration page and download the IMPACS Vendor User Guide and the IMPACS Commodity Code list.
2. Open the IMPACS supplier login link and create a vendor account. DAS also points to a JAGGAER registration video.
3. After you create the account, log in to the vendor portal and finish your vendor registration. Setting up the login alone is not enough.
4. Choose your commodity codes. They decide which bid emails you get.
5. Check the DAS Bidding Opportunities page, bidopportunities.iowa.gov and the IMPACS public events page for open solicitations.
6. If you win an award, send a signed W-9 (DAS says by fax or mail) and, if you want electronic payment, the EFT Authorization Form.

After you register

• Watch for IMPACS bid emails and keep your commodity codes current.
• Keep your contacts and addresses up to date in the vendor portal. DAS also links a separate Vendor Self Service page for payment-related vendor information.
• Look at DAS's Targeted Small Business Program if you qualify.
• A renewal schedule was not confirmed in official sources.

Watch out for

• Two listing sites. bidopportunities.iowa.gov lists solicitations from many agencies, while IMPACS hosts DAS solicitations. Check both.
• Construction and DOT. Iowa DOT highway construction lettings are on Bid Express (bidx.com/ia), DOT engineering and professional services are at apps.iowadot.gov/rfp, and the Regents universities post their own construction and purchasing bids.
• Payment paperwork comes later. The W-9 and EFT forms go in after an award, separately from IMPACS registration.
• Paid services. No fee is mentioned on DAS pages. You don't need a paid third-party "registration service."
