How to Register as a Vendor in North Dakota

What it's for

NDBuys is North Dakota's procurement system. Registering as a bidder puts your company on the State Bidders List, so the system emails you solicitation notices for the commodity codes you pick and you can take part in solicitations. Old SPO Online bidder accounts moved into NDBuys.

Have this ready

• An NDLogin account (the state's single sign-on). You can create one or reuse one you already have with another ND agency.
• Business identifying information, addresses and contacts
• An email address for solicitation notices
• Commodity codes for the goods and services you sell (you can pick more than one)
• If your business type requires it, North Dakota Secretary of State registration (needed before a contract is signed)
• FEIN and payment details come later, in a separate payee registration if you are awarded work

Steps

1. Create or sign in with your NDLogin account.
2. Open NDBuys and start the Bidder Registration.
3. Enter your business's identifying information, addresses and contacts.
4. Enter the email address that should get solicitation notices.
5. Select the commodity codes that determine which notices you receive.
6. Submit, and watch for the confirmation email.

After you register

• NDBuys emails you when a solicitation matches your commodity codes.
• OMB says: "Keep your Bidder List profile current to continue receiving solicitation notices." Sign in to update addresses, contacts or commodity codes.
• If you are also set up as a payee, the bidder profile only lets you change contacts and commodity codes. Other changes go through your Payee profile.
• Before a contract is signed, your Secretary of State registration (if required) must be active, and it must stay active for the whole contract period.

Watch out for

• Construction: NDDOT highway construction is separate. It is advertised through NDDOT "Notice to Bidders" emails and bid electronically on BidX (bidx.com), and it requires annual contractor prequalification.
• Individual agencies may run their own solicitations, but OMB directs vendors to the Bidders List in NDBuys for state notices.
• OMB doesn't state a processing time or a renewal cycle.
• Registration is free. You don't need a paid "registration service."
