What it is

ISNetworld is an online contractor and supplier management platform run by ISN. ISN says it "collects and reviews company health, safety, sustainability, insurance, financial, and training information." You submit your information once, and it's shared with every Hiring Client you're connected to. ISN's Review and Verification Services (RAVS) team checks your documents "against regulatory and Hiring Client requirements."

Who asks for it

Companies ISN calls "Hiring Clients." ISN says about 900 use the platform. Names shown on its homepage include ADM, DTE, DuPont, Heidelberg Materials and Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling. If a customer's purchasing or safety team tells you to "get in ISN," this is it. Each Hiring Client decides what it requires from you.

Have this ready

ISN lists these as things its subscription covers collecting and reviewing:

  • The name of the Hiring Client that asked you to join (you pick it at sign-up)
  • Basic company information
  • Your employee count (ISN prices by workforce size, using a three-year average)
  • Health, safety, environmental and quality written programs
  • Incident and injury forms, and safety statistics
  • Insurance certificates
  • Workers' compensation documents
  • Employee-level training, competency and qualification records (if your Hiring Client tracks them)
  • Audit and evaluation reports, if your client requires them

Each Hiring Client sets its own exact list, which may include more than this.

Steps

  1. Get the exact name of the Hiring Client that asked you to subscribe.
  2. Go to the ISNetworld Member Sign-Up page. Find your Hiring Client and enter your company's basic information.
  3. ISN says its Customer Service Team will contact you after you sign up. You can also call ISN for help at 1-800-976-1303 (U.S. and Canada).
  4. Set up your subscription. You pay an annual fee plus a one-time account setup fee. Both are based on workforce size and the countries you operate in.
  5. In ISNetworld, fill in your Hiring Client's requirements: questionnaires, safety statistics, written programs, insurance certificates and training records.
  6. The RAVS team reviews what you submit. Watch your account for results and fix anything they note.
  7. Keep your account current. ISN says many accounts "only need periodic updates to maintain compliance."

Costs and renewals

  • Structure: an annual subscription fee plus a one-time account setup fee per country. Both are based on the number of employees, using the three-year average.
  • All-inclusive: ISN says pricing is "all-inclusive, regardless of the number of tools your company uses or the number of Hiring Clients" you're connected to.
  • Dollar amounts: ISN links to a pricing details page, but we couldn't verify it because the page blocks automated access. Check current amounts on the Contractors & Suppliers page or call ISN before you sign up.
  • Renewal: the fee is annual. Expect to renew every year and update your documents and statistics regularly.
  • Free help: ISN runs free events and training sessions for subscribers.

Watch out for

  • The Hiring Client sets the bar. Subscribing doesn't make you approved. You still have to meet that client's specific requirements.
  • Written programs are reviewed. RAVS checks them against regulatory and Hiring Client requirements. Leave time to respond to review comments.
  • Employee count drives price. It's a three-year average, so check what number you enter.
  • Insurance requirements come from each client. Get each Hiring Client's insurance limits and any "additional insured" wording directly from them. Then give it to your agent word for word.
  • Keep your COI current. Upload renewed certificates before the old ones expire.
  • Annual renewal. Put your subscription renewal date on your calendar.
